Judge Bascon sworn into office on January 2021.
Judge Stephanie S. Bascon was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve as the first judge of the newly created 466th Judicial District Court in December, 2020, making her the first female district court judge to serve in Comal County.
Prior to her appointment, Judge Bascon was in private practice in Dallas and New Braunfels, Texas for almost 30 years. While in private practice, Judge Bascon also served as Municipal Court Judge for the City of Bulverde, Texas from 2017 to 2021 and Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of New Braunfels, Texas from 2015 to 2020.
Judge Bascon is a member of the State Bar of Texas and former president, vice president and secretary of the Comal County Bar Association. She is a member of Rotary International and has served as a board member of the McKenna Foundation and a mentor for Communities in Schools. She received her BA from the University of Dallas in 1988, graduating cum laude and her JD from the University of Houston Law Center in 1991, graduating cum laude.
